On the 11th of March ABSA held their flagship event of the year, ‘Linkedin: Build your Brand’ at the Governor Hotel in Macquarie Park. We had about 40 students, 14 corporates and of course 13 ABSA committee team attend. Despite the numerous complications we faced due to COVID-19, including our main Linkedin speaker cancelling last minute due to company policy and numerous other corporates withdrawing their attendance, we consider the event to be a great success! Many students were able to gain valuable tips through their one-on-one time with recruiters and representatives from the likes of Bank of Queensland, Deloitte, Westpac, Optus, Adecco Group, Caltex, Grant Thornton, IBM and Telstra Purple. They also gained insight on ways to improve their networking, how to stand out from the crowd, advice on forging a passionate career path and of course, was able to take a professional Linkedin headshot! Our keynote speaker also agreed to instead recorded her presentation and was happy to share this with us exclusively for our ABSA members. I would like to thank our team for their efforts in putting on such a wonderful event and thank all the ABSA members in attendance. We hope to see you at our next event!
