2022 Events

In 2022, ABSA brought together students, industry leaders, and entrepreneurs to explore the rapid advancements shaping the future of business. From the National Conference, “The Digital Revolution,” which examined the role of emerging technologies in the workforce, to the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Series, where students pitched bold startup ideas to investors, this year’s events encouraged participants to embrace change, think creatively, and develop the skills needed to lead in a tech-driven world.

DIGITAL REVEOLUTION

At the 2022 ABSA National Conference, “Digital Revolution”, attendees engaged in thought-provoking discussions, expert-led workshops, and insightful panel sessions, tackling key questions such as: What will the workforce look like in an increasingly digital world? What emerging technologies are shaping industries?, before concluding the day with a corporate cocktails networking event.

A huge thank you to all who participated in making this event a success, the 11 Member Societies who partnered with us as hosts, and to Microsoft for sponsoring the event! We look forward to seeing you at the next ABSA National Conference.

TECHNOLOGY OF TOMORROW

The 2022 ABSA Innovation & Entrepreneurship Startup Series provided students with a unique opportunity to develop and pitch their own startup ideas to industry professionals, including venture capitalists and startup mentors.

This competition challenged participants to refine their business concepts, articulate their value proposition, and demonstrate their entrepreneurial potential for a chance to win mentorship from a VC firm.

The series kicked off with an Entrepreneurship Panel on August 28th, where startup founders and investors shared insights into the realities of innovation, funding, and scaling a business. Participants then submitted pitch decks and video presentations, with Campus Winners advancing to the National Finals in late October.

Finalists gained access to exclusive workshops covering design thinking, financial literacy, marketing, and pitching strategies, helping them refine their business models before presenting to industry experts.
